Wazzmatazz

Wazzmatazz is the ultimate summer music event hosted by WiLD 94.9, a leading Top 40 radio station in the San Francisco Bay Area. As the principal graphic designer for iHeartRadio San Francisco, I was honored to take on the responsibility of developing and designing the brand identity for their annual summer concert.

  • First, I conducted extensive research on the comic-book theme, looking at various styles and trends. Next, I worked closely with the Digital Program Director and Social Media Manager to establish the goals and objectives for the event. Based on these insights, I began creating mood boards and mockups that showcased different concepts and visual elements.

After several rounds of feedback and revisions, we narrowed down the options and selected the most appropriate visual direction for the event. With the concept in place, I designed various digital assets that could be used across multiple social media platforms to promote the event, such as banners, gifs, and merchandise.

Finally, I designed t-shirts and press passes that would be used on-site during the festival. Throughout the entire process, I maintained open communication with all parties involved and ensured that the visual identity was consistent with the station's overall aesthetic while still being true to the comic-book theme. The end result was a cohesive and engaging brand identity that helped make the Wazzmatazz music festival a great success.

  • Developing the brand identity for a new summer concert was a complex project that taught me the importance of effective communication and collaboration with multiple stakeholders. By presenting multiple mockups, I was able to help non-creative individuals visualize the project and provide feedback. Despite the tight deadlines, I prioritized organization and planning, which allowed me to create high-quality designs for a variety of digital assets, as well as t-shirts and press passes. Looking back, I believe I could have been more experimental with the typography, but overall, I am extremely proud of my work and the skills I developed throughout the project.
