I led the visual redesign for the Wazzmatazz '20 festival, which was strategically aimed at capturing the Gen-Z audience with a "summer-y," abstract beach-vibe aesthetic. Although the event was ultimately canceled due to the pandemic, my work was later officially adopted and utilized by WiLD 94.9 in February 2022, showcasing the enduring quality and effectiveness of the visual identity I created. This recognition was a significant testament to my design's strategic fit and appeal, despite the initial setback.
The Digital Director challenged me to create a design that would appeal directly to the primary Gen-Z audience by utilizing more "summer-y" colors and an abstract beach-vibe approach. My process included researching popular festival styles, such as Wango Tango and Y100's Summer Splash. I worked collaboratively with various department heads and external vendors, including LiveNation, to ensure all graphics translated seamlessly across every size and medium, successfully addressing all stakeholder needs while maintaining a cohesive and vibrant visual identity.
